Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new analysis from Acrometis’ Strength in Numbers Series that looked at 80,000 medical bills occurring during the first week of a work injury, and found that while the M.D. and orthopedic surgeon categories represented the highest costs, they also yielded the lowest percentage of savings.
Following the spend and savings for the first 52 weeks of the claims, Acrometis also found that the percentage of savings in the M.D. category continued to be the lowest of all of their seven categories, which they noted as a significant indicator for potential savings.
