Mitchell NHQ Negotiation Services Selected by Coventry WCS

July 21, 2013 - WorkCompWire

San Diego, CA -(Marketwired)- Mitchell International, a provider of technology, connectivity and information solutions to the Property & Casualty (P&C) claims and Collision Repair industries, recently announced an expanded partnership with Coventry Workers’ Comp Services, a division of Coventry Health Care, Inc. As a result of the change, Coventry can now augment its cost and care management solutions for employers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators with Mitchell NHQ Negotiation Services. This enables workers’ comp payers to manage out-of-network injury costs and deliver more value to injured parties.

“Through this partnership, our goal is to assist our clients achieve better cost outcomes,” said Eric-Jason Smith, director, product management at Coventry. “Expanding our partnership to include Mitchell NHQ made perfect sense as Mitchell offers industry-leading out-of-network negotiation services. This enables us to continue to exceed our customers’ expectations.”

Today, a significant portion of medical provider charges are out-of-network and drive up a significant portion of medical costs. This can cause challenges for payers due to a lack of pre-negotiated rates, inconsistent settlement values and interaction with unfamiliar providers. Mitchell NHQ Negotiation Services reduces these challenges by delivering negotiated settlements for out-of-network medical services providers resulting in an average 30-40 percent success rate.

“Since Mitchell acquired and launched NHQ Negotiation Services in March 2012, client response has been overwhelmingly positive due to ease of use, streamlined processes and the ability to offer quick cost savings,” said Greg Gaughan, vice president and general manager of Mitchell NHQ Negotiation Services. “By extending our partnership with Coventry, a broader market segment gains access to our skilled team of negotiators who are well versed at helping insurance payers and providers reach mutually beneficial agreements.”

Mitchell NHQ Negotiation Services easily integrates into Coventry’s existing workflow, providing immediate value to Coventry’s clients. Additionally, Mitchell NHQ’s “No Results / No Charge” policy ensures Coventry’s clients only pay when savings is achieved.

Mitchell NHQ Negotiation Services is a national best-in-class provider of negotiated out-of-network prompt payment services. Since 1991, insurance carriers, third party administrators, self-administered employers and injury claims professionals across the US have benefitted from Mitchell NHQ’s ability to deliver negotiated settlements between out-of-network medical services providers and payers. NHQ programs have accelerated the bill settlement process and realized hundreds of millions of dollars in benefit opportunity for policyholder customers involved in auto casualty and workers’ compensation injury claims.
