Towson, MD – IWIF Workers’Compensation Insurance recently announced the appointment of Mr. Lewis C. Powell as Chairman of the Board after having served as Vice Chairman and Member since 2009. Mr. Powell replaces Mr. Leonard Schuler, Jr., who has assumed the role of Member on IWIF’s Board.
Mr. Charles Dankmeyer is now Vice Chairman, after having served as Member since 2008. Mr. Powell commented, “I am looking forward to serving as Chairman for IWIF’s Board and helping lead the company through its conversion and name change in 2013. The Board is confident that the transition from IWIF to Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance on October 1 will be seamless to stakeholders, especially policyholders. I also wish to thank the immediate past Chair Mr. Schuler for his leadership and service to IWIF, Maryland businesses and their employees.”
IWIF is headed by a nine-member Board appointed by the governor of Maryland for a maximum of two, five-year terms.
Established in 1914, IWIF is the largest writer of workers’ compensation insurance in Maryland. Effective October 1, 2013, IWIF will become Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company.
