WorkCompRecap: Opioid Outreach!

June 12, 2013 - WorkCompWire

Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a free opioid flyer from the Work Loss Data Institute, which summarizes key evidence-based takeaways from Official Disability Guidelines (ODG) and the ODG Drug Formulary, and was created by WLDI due to client demand for an asset that payers and workers’ compensation authorities could distribute to providers active in their system.

The flyer aims to educate providers on appropriate use and dosage of opioids for acute, sub-acute and chronic pain, and includes recommendations for limits, critical steps to take before prescribing a trial of opioids, and evidence-based criteria for continuation and stopping opioid therapy.

Find out more (including a link to the free flyer!) by clicking here!
