Mobile Provider Search Capability Unveiled by Coventry

June 18, 2013 - WorkCompWire

Franklin, TN – Injured workers and payors now have a convenient and easy way to find network providers using the texting functionality on their mobile phones. The goal of the text capability is to help Coventry Workers’ Comp Services (“Coventry”) customers increase the use of network providers by simplifying how injured workers locate network providers and pharmacies.

With Provider Search by Text, injured workers can locate network providers and pharmacies with a few easy steps. Once the injured worker is informed of the program by their employer or nurse, they simply text a code to initiate the search. A few quick texts allow the injured worker to receive a list of providers meeting the search criteria. The injured worker can also opt to obtain directions or expand their search if needed.

“We’re excited to be the first in the workers’ compensation market to offer a texting-based provider search tool”, stated Gail Koza, director, product development at Coventry. “Our text-based tool can be used by a greater percentage of the population than a mobile app because it doesn’t require a smart phone.” Provider Search by Text is part of Coventry’s overall workers’ compensation mobile strategy which uses select mobile technologies to improve customer experience and effectiveness.
