LWCC Hires Two Assistant Vice Presidents

Baton Rouge, LA – Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) recently announced the hiring of Sandra Mayfield as Assistant Vice President of Accounting and Charles Simon as Assistant Vice President of Information Technology Services.

Before joining LWCC, Mayfield served as Vice President, Finance and Accounting for AIG United Guaranty (UGC) in Greensboro, N.C., where she was responsible for strategic business planning, forecasting, and financial oversight of growth initiatives. Previous to Mayfield’s 13 years at UGC, she worked for VF Corporation, an apparel and fashion company that produces brands such as Wrangler®, The North Face®, and Vans®. During her tenure as Director of Budgets and Financial Analysis for VF, she was instrumental in assisting the senior management team with expansion initiatives in new markets including Canada and Mexico.

Mayfield received a B.S. in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), and earned an MBA at The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Simon has more than 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, including numerous senior level roles for technology firms and as an IT consultant. Most recently, he served as IT Manager for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. He has been a member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Louisiana State University Computer Science and Engineering Department since 2007.

Simon spent eight years in the United States Navy, where he received much of his IT training. He has an extensive background in national and international lecturing and IT training. He has lectured throughout the United States on software engineering and quality practices and has traveled to Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Canada, China, Great Britain, and Uruguay as an IT trainer and consultant.
