San Jose, CA -(BusinessWire)- EK Health Services, Inc., a national workers’ compensation managed care company, has hired Kiran Sidhu, RN, as clinical program director to support nursing operations and the structure of EK Health’s case management division.
With a decade of experience in nurse supervision and medical case management for top insurance companies and a large employer, Sidhu will oversee the operations and functions of EK Health’s Next Step Medical Advisory Program℠ (“Next Step”), including the program’s clinical and non-clinical staff.
Next Step is EK Health’s proprietary collaborative program that helps payers resolve stagnating workers’ compensation claims, especially those that are complex, costly and involve poly-pharmacy and potentially addictive pain medication. The program has shown measurable success transitioning injured workers from drug dependency to recovery, while helping payers save substantial dollars in drug expenditures.
“Kiran represents the best of what we look for in a clinical program director, and outstanding credentials for directing Next Step,” said Sherry Busbee, EK Health’s assistant vice president of case management. “She has strong clinical, supervisory and trainer experience on the payer and employer side of workers’ compensation risk management, including utilization review and compliance.”
Among her duties is delivering Next Step’s clinical service in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as EK Health’s policies and procedures
Sidhu, who is multi-linguistic, was a clinical nurse supervisor with The Zenith Insurance Co. and a nurse supervisor with Safeway, Inc. She has practical experience as a medical surgical nurse, and is a skilled educator, serving as professor of nursing at Yuba Community College.
She earned a bachelor’s of science in nursing from University of San Francisco and masters of science in nursing/nursing leadership and management at The George Washington University, Washington D.C. Sidhu resides in the San Francisco Area.
