Juneau, AK – Governor Sean Parnell has proclaimed June as Safety Month in Alaska to coincide with the National Safety Council’s National Safety Month. Each year, the NSCpromotes prevention of injuries and deaths in the workplace, on roads and highways, and in homes and communities.
“Health and safety is priceless for every single Alaskan,” Labor Commissioner Dianne Blumer said. “This year’s theme is ‘Safety Starts with Me.’ The Alaska businesses that are recognized as safety leaders are building a culture of safety.”
Users can sign-up at the National Safety Council’s website for materials on each weekly theme and help spread messages of prevention that bring attention to critical safety issues.
