Washington, DC – The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) recently issued the following statement in support of H.R. 1982, the Medicare Secondary Payer and Workers’ Compensation Settlement Agreements Act of 2013.
“PCI applauds Reps. David Reichert (R-WA) and Mike Thompson (D-CA) for introducing the Medicare Secondary Payer and Workers’ Compensation Settlement Agreements Act of 2013, which brings more clarity and consistency to the Medicare set-aside administrative process,” said Tom Litjen, PCI’s vice president federal government affairs.
“This common sense bill would benefit injured workers, employers, and insurers, by eliminating costly delays in the federal government’s review process for workers compensation claims of Medicare beneficiaries. It would help many injured workers expedite their claims process.”
“PCI supported similar legislation introduced by Reps. Reichert and Thompson in 2012 and looks forward to working with them again on this necessary and important legislation.”
