Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new study write up from Acrometis on the inefficiencies between workers’ comp bills submitted by care providers and the payers responsible for determining their compensability. Based on 10,000 returned workers’ comp invoices that were automatically rejected by their platform, the study found that 81 percent of the bills were never resubmitted, showing the need for identifying and eliminating erroneous bills early in the claims process. Also in the news today are two big pieces of “People on the Move” news, as Marsh recently announced the appointment of Mark Walls as Workers’ Compensation Market Research Leader within its Workers’ Compensation Center of Excellence, and Michael Nolan has announced his retirement as President of CWCI effective in May. The Institute’s Board has named Alex Swedlow, CWCI’s Executive VP for Research, as his successor.
