Also in the news today is the announcement from CompPharma that representatives from their pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) member companies will discuss legislative, regulatory and clinical approaches to tackling opioid abuse in workers’ comp at the upcoming National Rx Drug Abuse Summit on April 2 in Orlando. The session is expected to touch on identifying at-risk injured employees, monitoring refill rates, quantity/dose restrictions, educating claimants and physicians, and working with prescribers to wean injured employees off opioids.
