Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the recent announcement from Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company (MEMIC) that they will not adopt the rate filing recently approved by the Maine Bureau of Insurance which would have raised workers’ comp rates by nearly 4 percent across the board starting April 1.
MEMIC noted that while they understand that there is justification to raise rates based upon increasing medical costs, they are holding the line in order to help keep workers’ comp costs from impeding economic growth in the state.
