Tampa, FL – Healthesystems, a national workers’ compensation pharmacy and ancillary benefits management provider, recently appointed Dr. Robert Goldberg to the executive leadership position of Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President. Dr. Goldberg is recognized nationally as one of the foremost authorities in the fields of occupational and environmental medicine and has extensive experience in directing evidence-based and patient-centered care. Throughout his esteemed medical career, Dr. Goldberg has been a stakeholder in all aspects of the occupational healthcare continuum, and has been instrumental in the development of industry best practices and medical treatment guidelines.

Dr. Goldberg brings over 25 years of occupational medicine expertise to Healthesystems, with a multidisciplinary background as a treating physician, researcher, professor, consultant and corporate healthcare executive. In addition, he has vast experience in providing clinical direction over the development of evidence-based medical guidelines and workers’ compensation public policy initiatives, including an appointment to the Industrial Medical Council by the Governor of California.
Dr. Goldberg served as President of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and Vice-Chair of Occupational Medicine of the American Board of Preventive Medicine, and continues to serve both organizations. He is Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and has over 25 years of medical management experience, having worked closely with payers, employers, third party administrators and patients.

Prior to joining Healthesystems, Dr. Robert Goldberg served as Chief Medical Officer for Landmark Healthcare, Inc. in which he was responsible for clinical operations and utilization management of physical medicine services.
