San Francisco, CA – Executives representing WCIRB member insurers met today in San Francisco for the WCIRB’s 97th Annual Meeting. At this meeting, the WCIRB membership elected new insurer members of the Governing Committee and Classification and Rating Committee to fill vacancies created by expiring terms. In addition, the WCIRB reported to its members on recent achievements and current activities.
In his opening remarks, WCIRB President and CEO Bill Mudge summarized some of the major accomplishments of the past year including the successful launch of the first phase of the WCIRB’s new STAR operating system, the deployment of the WCIRB’s medical transaction data system, the launch of a new website at www.wcirb.com, and the significant increase in the outreach conducted by WCIRB staff among its various stakeholders.
At the conclusion of Mr. Mudge’s remarks, a vote of the members was conducted to replace vacancies on the Governing and Classification and Rating committees. Employers Compensation Insurance Company was newly elected to serve on the Governing Committee, and Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company was re-elected. Preferred Employers Insurance was newly elected to the Classification and Rating Committee, and National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa was re-elected. These new committee members will serve three-year terms expiring at the Annual Meeting in 2016.
On behalf of the membership, Mr. Mudge offered his thanks to outgoing Governing Committee member Zurich American Insurance Company and to outgoing Classification and Rating Committee member Pacific Compensation Insurance Company. “Our success this past year is the direct result of the tremendous support we receive from the membership, and we sincerely appreciate the dedication and hard work put forth by those who volunteer to serve on our committees and working groups.”
