Sacramento, CA – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. recently announced the following appointments to the Board of Directors of the California State Compensation Insurance Fund.
Robin Baker, 59, of Berkeley, has been appointed to the California State Compensation Insurance Fund Board of Directors. Baker has been director of research to practice at the University of California, Berkeley Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and at CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training since 2010. She was director at the University of California, Berkeley Labor Occupational Health Program from 1981 to 2010 and director at the Project on Health and Safety in Electronics, Santa Clara Center for Occupational Safety and Health from 1978 to 1981. Baker is a member of the American Federation of Teachers and the American Public Health Association. She earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $50,000. Baker is a Democrat.
Marvin Kropke, 65, of Brea, has been appointed to the California State Compensation Insurance Fund Board of Directors. Kropke has been business manager and financial secretary at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 11 since 1997. He has been a member of IBEW since 1979. Kropke serves as executive secretary at the California State Association of Electrical Workers and is co-chairman of Working Californians. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $50,000. Kropke is a Democrat.
