Philadelphia Insurance Names New Chief Marketing and Chief Information Officers

February 21, 2013 - WorkCompWire

Bala Cynwyd, PA -(PRWeb)- Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), a leading property and casualty insurance company for niche markets, has announced the promotion of Brian O’Reilly from Senior Vice President of Marketing to Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer as well as the hiring of Andrew Peel as Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.

“Brian started his professional career with us 22 years ago. His talent, hard work, and leadership have built opportunities for PHLY to grow and be recognized as a leader in the insurance industry,” said Bob O’Leary, President and CEO of Philadelphia Insurance Companies. “We’re excited to welcome Andrew who brings international experience building Fortune 500 firms as both a C-Level executive and an external consulting adviser.”

Before becoming Senior Vice President of Marketing in 2011, Mr. O’Reilly served as Regional Vice President where he grew PHLY’s Metro Region from $95 million to $325 million in annual business. He first joined PHLY as a Marketing Representative in 1990 and has held various positions since then, including Regional Sales Manager and Assistant Vice President of Marketing.

“I am thankful for this opportunity and eager to build on the success, service, and innovation that has driven PHLY for over 50 years in business,” shared O’Reilly. “The business principals and relationships that have served as the foundation of this Company will continue to guide us as we constantly seek to improve the value that we provide to our agents and customers.”

A graduate of Lafayette College where he was a Regional All-American soccer player, Mr. O’Reilly is now a member of the Lafayette College Maroon Club. He also sits on the Board of Governors of Notre Dame High School (Lawrenceville, NJ) and Board of Trustees of Kidsbridge, Inc. (Trenton, NJ). He holds the Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designations.

Mr. Peel will be responsible for leading the talent, technology solutions, and strategic direction of PHLY’s IT Department. He fills the Senior Vice President and CIO position following the promotion of Alfred Goxhaj to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Tokio Marine North America, Inc.
“PHLY already has a great culture of innovation that embraces technology,” commented Peel. “Harnessing these technical solutions to provide unsurpassed service to our customers and employees is how we’ll build on PHLY’s success.”

Mr. Peel previously served as Managing Director for Alsbridge and was the EVP & Chief Information Officer of ACE Insurance’s International Division. Prior to ACE, Mr. Peel held various managerial roles across the IT hardware, software, services and advisory spectrum at IBM (US), The Continuum Company in Europe (now part of CSC), Ernst & Young, AIG, and BearingPoint.

Mr. Peel holds a BA degree in International Relations & Comparative Politics (Political Science) from Yale University; an International MBA from Henley Management College in the UK; and a Diploma in Marketing from the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing.
