OK State Chamber Comments on New Workers’ Comp Replacement Legislation

February 19, 2013 - WorkCompWire

Oklahoma City, OK – State Chamber of Oklahoma President Fred Morgan released the following comments on Senate Bill 1062, which was recently filed by Senate President Pro Tempore Brian Bingman.

“Oklahoma consistently rates as one of the most-costly workers’ compensation systems in the nation. This costs our state jobs and economic growth and affects every business in Oklahoma. There is no more important goal of the State Chamber of Oklahoma this session than replacing our broken system with one that works better for employers and employees, both public and private,” said Morgan.

“There is no greater asset to a business than its employees. This legislation will help reduce costs, get workers timely, quality medical care and make Oklahoma more competitive economically with our surrounding states.”
