Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features some recent testimony from the AIA calling for additional improvements in Michigan’s prescription drug repackaging regulation. AIA noted that while the adoption of recent regulations has been a positive first step, additional changes are needed to help ensure that they will operate as intended.
The AIA proposed four modifications, including the inclusion of Medispan as an additional data source for determination of a drug’s average wholesale price (AWP), clarification that the average wholesale price less 10 percent is the maximum level for reimbursement, elimination of ambiguous language on reimbursement for equivalent generics, and elimination of uncertainty about how to reimburse bills without specific coding.
