Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap features Coventry WCS’ recent announcement that earlier this month the Texas Department of Insurance approved the remaining 23 counties for their two HCNs, giving both a footprint in all 254 Texas counties. While the additional counties are considered rural, the expansion means that both the First Health and Coventry Workers’ Comp Network HCNs provide state-wide coverage, and are the first to be approved for all counties.
Coventry also noted that recent results from the TDI 2012 Annual Workers’ Compensation Network Report Card demonstrate the positive impact of HCNs, suggesting that networks are continuing to mature and bridge the gap between network and non-network claims.
