CO Governor Announces Appointments to Pinnacol, WC Cost Containment Boards

Denver, CO – Gov. John Hickenlooper recently announced several Board and Commission appointments, including the Pinnacol Assurance Board of Directors and the Workers’ Compensations Cost Containment Board.

The Pinnacol Assurance Board of Directors promulgates rules and regulations pertaining to the operation and administration of the Colorado Pinnacol Assurance Fund. The appointments must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The member appointed for a term expiring Jan.1, 2017:

  • Howard L. Carver of Silverthorne, to serve as a member who has experience in the management and operation of insurance companies, not competing with Pinnacol Assurance, and occasioned by the resignation of Marcia Ann Benshoof of Highlands Ranch.

The members appointed for terms effective Jan. 1, 2013 and expiring Jan. 1, 2018:

  • Joseph A. Hoff of Greeley, a farmer or employer whose liability is insured by Pinnacol.
  • Harold R. Logan Jr. of Denver, to serve as a member who has experience in finance or investments, but is not an employer whose liability is insured by Pinnacol Assurance, reappointed.
  • Joshua Lucas McFarland of Denver, to serve as a member who is an employee of an employer whose liability is insured by Pinnacol.
  • Patricia Louise Peterson of Monument,to serve as a member who is an employee of an employer whose liability is insured by Pinnacol.

The Workers’ Compensations Cost Containment Board is responsible for promoting cost containment and risk management programs in the administration of Workers’ Compensation Programs. The appointments must be confirmed by the Colorado Senate. The members appointed with terms expiring Dec.13, 2015:

  • Richard C. Zellen Jr. of Arvada, to serve as an employer with good risk management experience with respect to their workers’ compensation insurance, reappointed.
  • Jerry L. Mosley of Golden, to serve as an employer with good risk management experience with respect to their workers’ compensation insurance, reappointed.
