Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features a new draft report from California’s Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation (CHSWC) that examines screening for higher-risk prescribing practices within the workers’ comp system, with “higher risk” defined as warranting scrutiny because they may be associated with an increased risk of suboptimal patient outcomes.
The report also sought to collect information on opioid prescribing that can be used in the development of screening criteria for assessing opioid- prescribing risk.
