From the West, California’s Division of Workers’ Comp recently posted a new web page devoted to Senate Bill 863, which will make wide-ranging changes to the state’s system beginning next year. From the East, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation recently acknowledged Oregon’s DCBS’ recent rate study, which showed that Florida had jumped 11 spots from the 40th to 29th most expensive state for workers’ comp insurance, with Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty noting that a proactive approach to considering legislative options will be needed to keep rates competitive.
