Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the New Hampshire department of Health and Human Services’ recent release of the 2011 update of their report on Occupational Illness and Injury in the state from 2009.
The report provides updated data on many areas affecting the health of New Hampshire’s workers including work-related injuries, fatalities, hospitalizations and workers’ compensation awards. Key highlights included that 6% of all Emergency Department discharges of patients age 16 and older were paid for by workers’ comp, compared to the US as a whole, where only 2% were paid for by workers’ comp.
