Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap features the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services’ recent announcement of 2013 Worker’s Comp rates. According to the department, comp costs will increase slightly in 2013 to track growth in medical claims costs with their approval of a 1.7 percent increase in the pure premium rate, based on NCCI’s recommendation. Despite the increase, DCBS noted that according to a preliminary study analysis, only 11 states and the District of Columbia had average rates lower than Oregon at the beginning of 2012.
