Tampa, FL – Healthesystems, a workers’ compensation pharmacy and ancillary benefits management provider, has been invited to participate in a panel discussion on opioid best practices at the California Workers’ Compensation Risk (CWCR) conference on September 20th in Dana Point, CA.
Dr. Dianne Tharp B.S. Pharm, Pharm. D., B.C.P.S., C.P.E. will discuss this topic during a panel presentation titled Best Practices for Managing Opioids and Pain Management in Workers’ Compensation Claims. The engaging session will feature a number of opioid-related discussion points including strategies to identify and mitigate the overutilization of narcotics for treating work injuries, the risks of long-term use and results of benchmark studies. In addition, attendees will learn about tools to use for decreasing the use of opioids in the early stages of workers’ comp claims and helping claimants who are already dependent on opioids gain control of their lives and return to work.
Drawing from her vast experience as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Dr. Tharp will provide insight into the practice of incorporating evidence-based medicine guidelines into workers’ compensation claims management and the implementation of successful opioid management strategies.
