Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features some more M&A news, with ancillary healthcare services company Orchid Medical announcing their acquisition of the surgical implant business from Workers’ Implantable Network (WIN), a Tampa-based national company that assists workers’ comp claims professionals with prospective management of implantable devices.
Orchid’s CEO noted that their customers had been looking to them to provide new avenues for cost containment, which made the WIN initiative a logical step for them, especially after forming a strategic partnership with Medical Implant Solutions to bring their Surgical Cost Containment Program (SCCP) to the market.
