Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap kicks off the week with some acquisition news, as Dignity Health recently announced their signature of a definitive agreement for the acquisition of U.S. HealthWorks, the largest independent operator of occupational medicine and urgent care centers in the United States.
The deal is subject to regulatory approvals, but should be finalized in August, with U.S. HealthWorks expected to continue operating through a wholly-owned, for-profit subsidiary of Dignity Health focused on the occupational health care practice. Current U.S. HealthWorks President and CEO Daniel D. Crowley will remain at the helm. Dignity also noted their plans to expand U.S. Healthworks’ operations nationally.
