Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap features a big batch of People on the Move news, as various teams around the country seek to “deepen their benches”. First up is Washington’s Attorney General’s Office, which recently added two attorneys, Richard (Rick) Weber and Tienney Milnor, to investigate and prosecute workers compensation fraud for the Department of Labor and Industries’ Fraud Investigations Program. Safety National also recently announced that Elizabeth Quigley has joined the company as Large Casualty Underwriting Manager, focusing on servicing and underwriting national accounts involving Safety National’s Large Casualty product, which combines Workers’ Comp and other lines.
Also “teaming up” recently were Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance Jim Donelon and James H. Freis, Jr., Director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) within the U.S. Treasury. The two recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last week aimed at boosting anti-fraud efforts. The MOU will allow both to share important information enabling both parties to better protect the industry and consumers from criminal activity and fraud.
