WorkCompRecap: Acquired & Approved!

May 4, 2012 - WorkCompWire

Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features New Mexico Mutual’s announcement that they have acquired claims adjusting and administration company Keenan & Associates. President and CEO Norm Becker called the acquisition an excellent fit, and noted that Keenan will operate as a separate subsidiary, but New Mexico Mutual will now have under its umbrella the ability to offer New Mexico businesses the full spectrum of workers’ comp products and funding arrangements. Also in the news today are two People on the Move, with the announcement that Christine Baker and Rosa Moran received unanimous approvals by the California Senate’s Rules Committee as Director of the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), and Administrative Director of the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) respectively. The confirmations now move to the floor of the Senate for a full vote. The Association of California Insurance Companies (ACIC) applauded the decision, with President Mark Sektnan noting that broad support demonstrated that both Baker and Moran are the right team to work through the many challenges currently being faced by the system.
