Parsippany, NJ – One Call Medical, Inc. (OCM), a provider of specialty services to insurance payers, today announced the national launch of its provider portal for practices in its diagnostic network. This secure online portal enables OCM network providers to have convenient 24/7 access to information and to streamline communication, patient scheduling, claims management, authorizations, and re-credentialing of facilities.
The workers’ compensation and healthcare industries have often experienced inefficiency in processing requests for diagnostic services, such as electromyography, MRIs, and CT scans, as well as delays in their back-office operations and communicating provider updates. OCM now resolves these issues with its new provider portal.
Stephen Ellerman, vice president of provider development at OCM, commented: “In today’s ever-changing healthcare environment, we’re highly attuned to the challenges our diagnostic providers face. From the onset, we partnered with our providers throughout the portal development process to better understand their needs and create greater efficiencies with our providers. To assist busy practices, we invested in web-based capabilities to enable their offices to experience a greater ease of doing business with our organization. During the pilot, the portal was well received, and within three months, more than 1,200 OCM providers have enrolled to use the portal. This rate of acceptance speaks volumes about the value and benefits of this offering.”
OCM’s provider portal offers an intuitive, user-friendly interface. To sign up, OCM network providers create a user name and password to securely access the site. In the past, calling and waiting to receive information via fax was time-consuming, whereas providers can now access the same information via the OCM portal in a fast and efficient manner. With ondemand access, provider offices no longer have to worry about working within call center hours of operation. The portal offers interactive tools that make it easy for providers to:
- Manage Patient Exams. OCM network providers can view all of their OCM-scheduled exams, schedule patients, check the status of appointments, and reschedule as needed.
- Upload Medical Reports. Providers can upload medical reports to individual patient files or upload reports in bulk.
- Manage Claims. Providers can submit claims, as well as check the status of a claim and claim payments; and perform HCFA and UB92 processing.
- Obtain Authorizations. With online access, providers can now view and print authorizations at their convenience.
- Streamline re-credentialing of facilities. The process of re-credentialing facilities was previously paper-based and labor-intensive. Now through the portal, the process to recredential facilities is simple and easy.
The provider portal is part of OCM’s comprehensive IT strategy that strives to leverage stateof-the-art technology and a modern, enterprise platform to optimize operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Anthony Cuva, CIO at OCM, commented: “We outlined key IT priorities that help to meet client and provider network needs, as well as deliver ongoing value. Our latest web-centric and e-commerce capabilities enable both clients and providers to benefit from our high level of service excellence—in new and exciting ways—while capturing maximum savings and quality with each diagnostic exam. Our IT initiatives not only enhance day-to-day operations with our organization, but also prepare us for future growth and expansion, as we look to integrate additional services into our portfolio.”
