New Mexico Mutual Acquires Keenan & Associates

May 3, 2012 - WorkCompWire

Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico Mutual, the largest writer of workers’ compensation insurance in New Mexico, announced today that it has finalized a deal to acquire Keenan & Associates. The multi-line claims adjusting and administration company was founded in 1965 and has served clients throughout the state of New Mexico.

“We believe Keenan & Associates is an excellent fit with the mission and culture of New Mexico Mutual, which is to provide access to workers’ compensation coverage for New Mexico businesses,” said Norm Becker, President and CEO of New Mexico Mutual. “Keenan & Associates will operate as a separate subsidiary company but New Mexico Mutual will now have under its umbrella the ability to offer New Mexico businesses the full spectrum of workers’ compensation products and funding arrangements to meet their individual needs.”

New Mexico Mutual provides voluntary workers’ compensation insurance coverage for New Mexico businesses and is one of two servicing carriers for the New Mexico Assigned Risk Pool. Keenan & Associates has been the Servicing Facility for the New Mexico Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association since 1975. It provides services to other insurance carriers as well as self-insured entities within the State, including claims adjusting for workers’ compensation.

“Our clients will continue to receive the same great service from the same adjusters they work with today,” said Gary Keenan, one of the principals from Keenan & Associates. “This is a good match as we are both local companies and dedicated to providing excellent customer service.” Gary Keenan will continue to work for Keenan & Associates and lead the organization’s business development.
