ACIC Applauds Confirmation of Christine Baker and Rosa Moran

May 3, 2012 - WorkCompWire

Sacramento, CA – The Association of California Insurance Companies (ACIC) recently applauded the California Senate Rules Committee’s confirmation of Christine Baker as director of the Department of Industrial Relations and Rosa Moran as administrative director of the Division of Workers’ Compensation. The Senate Rules Committee voted yesterday 5 to 0 to recommend approval of both appointments by the full State Senate.

“Christine Baker and Rosa Moran are the right team to lead California’s employers, insurers, and injured workers through the many challenges facing the workers’ compensation system and the state’s labor environment right now,” said Mark Sektnan, ACIC president. “The broad support presented yesterday from employers, labor, providers and insurers demonstrates that both Baker and Moran listen to all sides and based their decisions on empirical data. Their experience and vision will be critical resources as California considers revisions to its workers’ compensation system.”

The next step in the confirmation process will be a full vote of the California State Senate.
