Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features some interesting reform news, as the Missouri Senate has announced their override of Governor Jay Nixon’s recent veto of Senate Bill 572. The bill aims to make/return occupational disease to being exclusively covered under Missouri’s Workers’ Compensation System, and also stated that all administrative remedies must be exhausted before civil actions can move forward.
SB 572 also includes provisions addressing protections for co-employees who are at risk of personal lawsuits for their role in honest accidents. The bill now moves to the House for its veto override consideration.
