Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap features the release of a new tool that has come out of a joint effort between the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) and the International Association of Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC). The new tool, Workers’ Compensation Laws as of January 2012 assists users in researching and understanding the distinctions among workers’ comp laws in all U.S. states and certain Canadian provinces.
According to WCRI, because workers’ compensation is entirely under the control of sub-national legislative bodies and administrative agencies, it becomes easy to misunderstand subtle differences between jurisdictional laws and regulations. The new tool seeks to help make those differences understandable.
