Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features the Washington Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), who announced that after years of steady decline, deaths in the state due to fatal workplace injuries fell to 51 in 2011, the lowest number in the state’s history.
The deaths are reported in the Washington FACE 2011 Work-Related Fatalities Report, and based on preliminary data. The report does not include deaths due to work-related illnesses.
