Florida – Patricia Kent, RN, JD, recently joined Gould & Lamb as Staff Counsel. She brings years of experience in Medicare Secondary Payer issues, and has also appeared as an expert witness for leading regional law firms in medical malpractice and liability insurance cases. Patricia has successfully coupled her hands-on clinical nursing experience with extensive legal knowledge to provide expertise for the clients of Gould and Lamb. As Staff Counsel, Patricia will be responsible for assisting clients with Medicare compliance with a specific concentration in liability insurance issues.
For the six years prior to joining Gould & Lamb, Patricia operated her own practice specializing in personal injury, elder law and abuse, and family law. She was responsible for all operations of a thriving law firm handling injury, family issues, guardianship cases, criminal law, contracts and business disputes. Prior to her solo practice, Patricia successfully practiced law as an associate for several law firms in the Tampa Bay, Florida area. She also provided successful testimony as a nurse expert trial witness in several high profile cases which resulted in substantial verdicts.

Patricia received her undergraduate degree from Kean University and her nursing degree from St. Petersburg College, In 2002, she received her JD from Stetson University’s College of Law. She is a licensed Florida Registered Nurse and a licensed Florida Health Care Risk Manager.
Patricia is a Member of the Florida Bar, the Manatee County Chapter of Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the St. Petersburg Bar Association, and the Manatee County Bar Association. She also serves on the Advisory Board at Keiser University and is on the Board of Broadwater Community Association.
