OLYMPIA, Wash. – Recently the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) congratulated Adam Schafer on his appointment as Deputy Commissioner and Chief of Staff to the Montana Department of Insurance. This appointment was announced on Tuesday by Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance, State Auditor Monica Lindeen. Schafer returns to his Montana roots from Washington, D.C. where he served as executive director for the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators.
“We look forward to working with Mr. Schafer in his new role with the Montana Department of Insurance. There are several key issues facing Montana insurers,” said Kenton Brine, assistant vice president for PCI. “While the Montana Legislature does not meet this year, we will continue to collaborate with the department to protect access and consumer choice in auto body repairs. PCI will also coordinate with the department to monitor the impact of the workers compensation reform legislation enacted in the 2011 legislative session. It is vital that the industry and its regulators work together to maintain a healthy and competitive market place that will give Montana consumers and businesses choices and access to a variety of insurance products.”
