New Jersey – The Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau (NJCRIB) issued Circular Letter #1822 on June 15, 2011 to announce the migration from International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) Claims Release 1 to IAIABC Claims Release 3 for First Report of Injury (FROI) and Subsequent Report of Injury (SROI) submissions. The project commenced on July 1, 2011 with completion to occur by June 30, 2012. This transition, with the assistance of Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO), is in progress. The highlights of IAIABC Release 3 include the following:
- NJCRIB Release 3 Implementation Guide: The new NJCRIB Release 3 Implementation Guide and EDI Requirements are located at: http://www.njcribedi.info/, select ‘NJCRIB R3 EDI Imp Guide’ on the left side of the page. The reporting requirements for Release 3, including data format, are different from Release 1. Please reference the IAIABC Release 3 Standards at www.iaiabc.org in conjunction with the NJCRIB Release 3 EDI Requirements for detailed information.
- NJCRIB New Trading Partner Profile needed for Release 3: As part of the implementation of Release 3, NJCRIB requires completion of a new Trading Partner Profile. The deadline for the submission of the new Trading Partner Profile is March 30, 2012. Please access the Trading Partner Profile at http://www.njcribedi.info/, select ‘New Profile’ on the left side of the page. Updates can be made thereafter by selecting ‘Profile Update.’ Instructions are available in the ‘Registration Instructions.’ The process currently in place for updates to Trading Partner Profiles for Release 1 will remain the same until the final transition to Release 3.
- Data Delivery to NJCRIB: The reporting process and data delivery services that are currently used will remain the same during and after the transition. Additional communications on the transition will be forthcoming.
