Los Angeles, CA – Effective Health Systems has announced the release of a new application in the BaseLine Platform as a Service (PaaS). The new application enhances communication between the technologies of claims organizations and third party partners. The application offers significant workflow efficiencies and increases the effectiveness of the professional staff charged with managing claims and delivering effective healthcare services in a timely fashion.
James Schlueter, President of Effective Health Systems, said “BaseLine is a Platform as a Service that improves the effectiveness of frontline managers by integrating the various technologies engaged in the medical management process.” He continued, “BaseLine senses when a decision has been made that requires action. At that point the business rules in BaseLine dictate all the incumbent tasks that naturally follow the decision and will instantly carry them out; even when it involves engaging multiple technologies and stakeholders. By handling all the routine decisions, tasks and paperwork, BaseLine enables professional staff to focus on things that require their individual knowledge and expertise.”
One Call Medical, a nationwide leader in MRI-CT-EMG services, was the first business to adopt the new BaseLine Third Party application with the California Insurance Guarantee Association (CIGA), which adopted the BaseLine Platform several months ago. Bob Zeccardi, Vice President at OCM, noted that the BaseLine platform technology “offers a significant value to all stakeholders. It cuts all the task-clutter adjusters face once the decision is made to send us a referral. With BaseLine, everyone has more time to do what they do best.”
Ken Loffredo, President of MedAllocators, an ASN Company providing MSA and medical management services, recently integrated BaseLine with their medical management software, “CaseWorks”. Loffredo said, “BaseLine delivered several applications that supplemented our CaseWorks technology. These have allowed us to offer a broader and more effective medical management service to our clients. Information now flows seamlessly through many different technologies.”
Loffredo noted that BaseLine streamlined the workflow across several technologies. “Our medical case management and UR systems integrate with client’s claims data system so intake and reporting are streamlined. Internally, the transmission of UR requests to and from our client’s peer groups now happens instantly; and, when a request is approved, BaseLine senses the approval and is able to electronically transmit the referral to our client’s preferred service partner immediately. Bottom-line, managers throughout the system have more time to focus on the important metrics of their jobs, rather than necessary but routine functions. That’s a win for everyone.”

According to Gregg Bernhard, COO at EHS, “The problem with most technologies today is an inability to effectively communicate with the system as a whole. The BaseLine platform responds to that communication problem. BaseLine’s ability to integrate and communicate between disparate technologies maximizes the value of the substantial investments companies have made in their existing systems. The key measure, of course, is that injured workers can get the care they need and can get back to work quicker with less administrative time and expense.”
