The newly appointed administrative director at the California Division of Workers’ Compensation has been recently added as a speaker to the California Workers’ Compensation and Risk Conference.
Rosa Moran will speak at 2 p.m. Sept. 26, the opening day of the inaugural conference in Dana Point. Her topic is “Future of the DIR and the WCAB.”
Gov. Jerry Brown in mid-July appointed Moran to head the DWC. A workers’ compensation judge since 2005, Moran was sworn into office as administrative director on July 25. She quickly identified fixing utilization review and medical networks as her top priorities.
In conjunction with Moran’s appearance, a panel discussion about utilization review in California is planned for Sept. 27. The “Update on Utilization Review in California” is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. with panelists Cora Lee of the California DWC Audit Unit, George Parisotto of the California DWC industrial Relations Counsel, and Drenee Miners, the West Coast compliance and training officer with Gallagher Bassett Services.
The California Workers’ Compensation & Risk Conference takes place Sept. 26 through Sept. 28 at the St. Regis Hotel in Dana Point.
