PacificComp Appoints New Loss Control Manager

August 1, 2011 - WorkCompWire

AGOURA HILLS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pacific Compensation Insurance Company (PacificComp), the California Workers’ Comp Specialist®, today announced it has appointed Todd Hines as its new loss control manager.

In this position, Hines will be responsible for developing and managing PacificComp’s in-house loss control programs, designed to assist policyholders in preventing future injuries and proactively managing overall workers’ compensation losses. He will also lead the loss control department in providing policyholders with guidance on how to comply with state and national safety requirements and how to establish a strong culture of safety within their workplaces. Hines will report to Jon Siglar, vice president and chief sales and field services officer.

James Little, president and CEO of PacificComp, commented on the significance of this new hire, “Todd has a successful track record of helping California employers reduce their workers’ compensation risk profile. We’re extremely pleased to add a loss control veteran of his caliber to our team. His depth of expertise further distinguishes and elevates our in-house loss control department as a differentiator in the market. As a result, the brokers we work with can rest assured that we’re the right partner to meet their clients’ loss control needs—helping them to minimize exposures stemming from safety concerns and providing the greatest overall value in terms of our loss control programs, services, and expertise.”

“PacificComp has provided me with an exciting opportunity,” said Hines. “Since the company is based in California, it inherently understands California workers’ compensation challenges and has served as an innovator in the industry. Now, we have the opportunity to approach loss control with this same innovative mindset and make a significant, positive impact on the policyholders’ overall program performance—this is critically important as workers’ compensation costs continue to escalate.”

Hines has more than 25 years of experience in loss control. Most recently, he headed Safety Management Systems, providing customers with safety programs, training, jobsite inspections, and loss investigations. Prior to this position, Hines worked as a safety and loss control expert at many leading risk and insurance companies.
