MEM Appoints Caisley to Board of Directors

August 9, 2011 - WorkCompWire

Columbia, MO- The Missouri Employers Mutual, the state’s No. 1 provider of workers compensation insurance, is pleased to announce the election of energy executive Charles “Chuck” Caisley to its Board of Directors, filling a previous Board member’s unexpired term. Caisley, vice president of Marketing and Public Affairs for Kansas City Power & Light, brings a wealth of expertise to MEM. He leads the Energy Solutions and Public Affairs divisions of KCP&L, overseeing the company’s products and services, small-scale renewables and unregulated businesses as well as having responsibility for the community strategy, customer communications, economic development and government affairs areas.

Prior to joining KCP&L, Caisley was president of the Missouri Energy Development Association, where he was responsible for rewriting the association’s mission, structure and government affairs strategy. Caisley served as Missouri Speaker Catherine Hanaway’s top political advisor and later chief of staff from 2001-2005.

“We’re honored to welcome an executive with Chuck’s level of expertise and integrity,” said Board Chair Jim Owen, who is serving as MEM’s interim president & CEO. “We know Chuck is committed, as we are, to maintaining the high quality service and integrity that our policyholders, producers, employees and the public expect.”

“It’s a privilege to serve the policyholders of Missouri Employers Mutual,” said Caisley. “I appreciate its history of serving Missouri’s small businesses and look forward to contributing to its future growth.”

Also re-elected to serve a 5-year term on MEM’s Board is Gary O’Neal, CEO of Commercial Bank of St. Louis. Gary has served as an MEM Board member since April 2010.
