GuideWire Lands Texas Mutual as Claims Management System Client

July 31, 2011 - WorkCompWire

AUSTIN, Texas & SAN MATEO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Texas Mutual Insurance Company, Texas’ leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance, and Guidewire Software®, a leading provider of flexible core systems to property/casualty insurers, today announced that Texas Mutual has selected Guidewire ClaimCenter® as its next generation claim management system. ClaimCenter will replace the company’s existing claim system.

While Texas Mutual’s existing claim system continues to meet current needs, the company recognized the need to take a proactive approach in selecting a new system that could meet the evolving needs of its customers, the company and the industry. To ensure ongoing stability and flexibility, Texas Mutual conducted an extensive search for a new claim management system, one that would be the foundation on which to shape its business.

“We chose to create our own future as opposed to reacting to one dictated to us by an aging claim system,” said Terry Buchheit, vice president, Application Services, Information Technology Division, Texas Mutual. “ClaimCenter will provide us with the modern, flexible technology platform we want in order to ensure that we are able to remain responsive to our policyholder and agent partners.”

ClaimCenter will enable Texas Mutual to:

  • Improve and streamline process flows to better serve policyholders and their injured workers;
  • Focus IT resources on meeting needs of business users, resulting in efficiency improvements and increased responsiveness to market and regulatory changes;
  • Free adjusters from manual administrative tasks allowing them to focus on providing more high-value services to customers; and
  • Reduce new employee training times through its intuitive interface.

Buchheit added, “We believe ClaimCenter will allow us to reset our technology clock and enable us to enhance customer service to our policyholders.”

”Texas Mutual’s existing claim system serves them adequately, but the company recognized that this would likely not be the case for the longer term and took action,” said Marcus Ryu, chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. “We are pleased that they selected Guidewire and ClaimCenter to help them take their business into the future. We are looking forward to going on this journey with them.”
