First up is NCCI’s release of their “Residual Market Management Summary”, which NCCI describes as the best source for obtaining facts and figures to understand current situations in the workers compensation residual market plans and reinsurance pools that they service.

Also on the reporting front is the release of the Minnesota DLI’s Annual Minnesota Workers’ Compensation System Report, which covers data from 1997-2009 on claims, benefits & costs, vocational rehab, and disputes & resolutions. Notable findings from the report include a overall paid claim rate falling 44 percent from 1997 to 2009, and a total system cost per $100 of payroll figure that was nearly the lowest since 1997.
