Pushing the Limits!

June 22, 2011 - WorkCompWire

Today’s issue of WorkCompRecap features two interesting pieces coming out of California, the first of which being the recently buzzed about General Provisions & Criteria that were recently sent out by State Compensation Fund of California to providers, stipulating conditions for remaining in their Medical Provider Network, including limitations surrounding opioids and compound drugs.

The California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery raised a number of concerns regarding the criteria, and elaborated on them in a letter to the State Fund.

Also coming out of California today is The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau (WCIRB)’s “Report on Losses & Expenses for Calendar Year 2010” which is released annually and contains estimated California workers’ compensation costs for 2010 based on insured employer experience.
