NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Prime Health Services, one of the nation’s largest workers’ compensation, group health, and first party auto liability PPO networks, is pleased to announce it has acquired Coastal Comp Health Network (CCHN). This PPO network (CCHN) has over 50,000 provider locations throughout the state of Texas serving both the workers’ compensation and group health markets.
“Coastal Comp Health Network is an excellent addition to our national broad based PPO and significantly increases access for our clients to quality providers with significant discounts,” said Brian A. Sharp, President and CEO of Prime Health Services Inc. He further stated that “Although this acquisition provides for immediate enhanced coverage for the non-subscriber Occupational Injury market in Texas, Prime will amend contracts for HCN (Health Care Network) access as well.”
Prime Health Services is currently a certified HCN in the state of Texas with approved counties being primarily in the eastern population centers. However, Prime currently is awaiting final approval from TDI for an additional 90 counties for the HCN. The acquisition of Coastal Comp Health Network will greatly speed the process to complete Prime’s goal of having all Texas counties approved for its HCN by the end of 2011.
“In addition to the enhanced coverage for our non-subscriber Occupational Injury clients, we also will see expanded provider access for our group health customers,” said Sharp.
The integration of Coastal Comp Health Network into Prime Health Services’ national integrated system is expected to be completed in several phases. As Prime runs a true real time discount application for its clients, all Coastal Comp Network contracts shall be available to clients as they come online in our real time EDI environment with a completion expected by August 1, 2011.
