SONOMA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PreCare, Inc., a leader in onsite injury prevention, wellness, and physical therapy treatment, has announced its role as sponsor of the first annual PreVent Award, honoring an organization’s superior commitment to preventing workplace injuries. The award will be presented on November 9, 2011, at the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Management Conference® & Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Presented in conjunction with the Risk & Insurance® Theodore Roosevelt Workers’ Compensation and Disability Management Awards (Teddy Awards), the PreVent Award candidate is judged based on established core Teddy Award criteria and: Total Injury Prevention Focus, Risk Assessment and Proactive Approach. In addition to bragging rights for the year, the winning organization will receive a write-up in Risk & Insurance magazine, a trophy, and will be honored at a special Q&A session at the conference.
“Many companies remain reactive to the health and wellness needs of their employees, meaning they are good at helping the employee after they are injured or ill,” said Stephen Brown, PreCare CEO. “However, the key to true employee wellness – and bottom line profitability – is preventing injury or illness in the first place. Organizations that have made a commitment to preventing workplace injuries have experienced quantifiable outcomes including reduced injuries, reduced costs, and increased productivity & job satisfaction. You need a special team of people to develop and implement unique, comprehensive, and effective prevention practices above and beyond traditional safety programs. It truly takes a cultural shift in thinking. We are sponsoring the PreVent Award to honor that excellence.”
The contest is open to any company, nonprofit organization, or government entity. To apply for the 2011 award, visit www.thepreventaward.com. Entries are due by July 29, 2011.
