CHICAGO, /PRNewswire/ — Aon eSolutions, the technology solutions business of Aon Corporation (NYSE: AON), today announced that OptaComp, the premier Florida provider of workers’ compensation insurance products and services for fully insured and self-insured organizations, completed implementation of the Aon eSolutions iVOS Claims Administration Platform.
In the world of workers’ compensation, OptaComp developed a model to take an aggressive approach to keep injured workers on the job while delivering the right care at the right time with the right clinician. This approach enabled the company to achieve phenomenal growth in the market. OptaComp selected the Aon eSolutions Claims Administration Platform for its advanced flexibility and functionality to adapt to its unique business model and plans for continued expansion.
Bob Stolp, director of information technology at OptaComp, headed up the implementation and said: “Once the Claims Administration Platform went live, we experienced immediate benefits. We’ve gone paperless by integrating document management. We’ve streamlined information exchange and reduced claim cycle times. In addition, our workflow has greatly improved and we’ve gained new capabilities, including automated bill review and litigation management.”
The implementation had to be achieved within a rapid timeframe, as the company had aggressive goals for growth and an existing software license was nearing expiration. To help drive the implementation, OptaComp teamed with Aon eSolutions Professional Services.
Stephen Thomas, senior practice manager at Aon eSolutions Professional Services, said: “At every turn, we partnered closely to design an innovative, tightly managed implementation. We committed to a clearly defined project scope, management methodology and go-live date. We then took the necessary steps to ensure completion, utilizing data staging tables, simulation tests, detailed task planning and trial conversions.”
Kathy Burns, CEO of Aon eSolutions, said: “With ingenuity, teamwork and commitment, the data conversion was completed over one weekend, avoiding any business interruption for OptaComp. The company now has an advanced claims administration platform to support its unique workers’ compensation model, which tightly manages program costs for clients, and will contribute to OptaComp’s continued success in the market.”
