More Drug Report Action!

May 9, 2011 - WorkCompWire

Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap re-features an interesting report that we want to make sure our readers had a chance to check out, since we published an incorrect excerpt for it. Here’s why you should take a look!

Last week, PMSI released their 2011 Annual Drug Trends report, which identifies the top 10 trends that affect pharmacy spend across the areas of cost, utilization and drug mix. The 2011 report findings are based on analysis of PMSI’s 5.4 million(!) retail and mail order transactions from 2008 – 2010. The report also delves into issues including physician dispensing, expanded use of pharmacy networks and the broadening of formularies and utilization controls.
