Today’s edition of WorkCompRecap features more news coming from the Ohio Board of Workers’ Compensation, who seem to be having a very busy couple of weeks in the area of enforcement. Readers may recall that last week we reported on their raid on a doctor’s office in conjunction with a work comp fraud investigation. This week brings an even larger scale bust that they’ve conducted in conjunction with the US Postal Service Office of Inspector General.
Several cases are pending investigation and the task force continues its review of contracts, but so far six contractors have already had their cases referred for prosecution. The task force was created in 2009 to address a trend among contractors of failing to maintain workers’ compensation coverage despite being paid to do so by the Postal Service.
